AUTHOR VISITS

Junior School

The English department and the PTFA teamed up to once again bring in two authors to inspire and delight the children with some real life experience. There was an author for KS1 and KS2 who stayed and did workshop activities.

NEARLY NEW & NEW NEW SALE

19th April 2023

Working with teh school shop to showcase the new uniform on offer, as well as provide oppertunity to purchase some of our nearly new, this was a roaring success. We also offered a service to sew on Spede badges to blazers and 50 put forward. We were busy!

EGG HUNT

Friday 31st March

Started last year, this whole school egg hunt was a huge success and a lovely added extra provided by the PTFA

BIG JOKE COMPETITION - COMIC RELIEF

Friday 17th March 2023

Children are invited to bring in their best joke and submit their entry at 50p a go. Each form group will select their top 3 entries to be submitted to the school council. The Prefects and a panel of teachers will then judge the best jokes. The winners will read out by their entries in assembly with Mr O'Reilly reading out the ultimate Stamford Junior School Comic Relief Cracker!

DISCOVERY MORNING

Junior School Event

This is a morning designed to help prospective parents get a real feel for the school. They come in during a working day to see classes in session and meet parents. Thank you to our helpers for saying lovely things. It really does mean alot.

WORLD BOOK DAY
BIG BOOK SWAP

Junior School Event

Thank you to all our helpers who made this day so creative and fun. The books left over from the Big Book Swap are being donated through our Charity Liason Officer to schools in the area who will benefit from a library boost.

PUB QUIZ

Junior School Event

Open to all, we hosted our second Pub Quiz. Our quiz master was Steve Aluzzi and with 50 parents all joining in it was a full and fun night. Hot food, a drink and plenty of laughs, a great way to spend a friday night.

CHARITY STATUS

Committee

We are now officially a Charity - Stamford Junior School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association - thanks to the amazing work of our team mate Lucy. This will have lots of benefits for us financially but also protect the team as a group as well.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

Junior School Event

Gathering together all our stall holders and each year group taking on a fund raising stall as well we managed to fill the sports hall with all sorts of goodies to buy and eat and enjoy. Lots of money raised and plenty of fun had by all.

FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Whole School Event

Another sold-out event with 800 people turning up to watch and support the Juniors Schools amazing display. External food trucks and children run sweet stalls. We had it all.

HUB RENOVATION

After School Care

Thank you to the O'Reilly family for taking their half term to go out and source, collect and create a wonderful new cosy hub area for all after school children to enjoy. Bean bags, wii, animal corner and much more.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Fundraiser for Statue

Pulling together we managed to raise enough money to get both an Unknown Soldier and Unknown Woman of War statue to be placed in the year 6 garden. This is a wonderful mark of remembrance but also of our ability to achieve. Well done.
